We’ve been to The Beach Mountain Diner in Waynesville twice now — once at the bar and this most recent visit at a table — and both experiences were nothing short of exceptional. The service has been consistently amazing, and this time, our waitress Colby took especially great care of us. She was incredibly sweet, attentive, and made us feel right at home. As for the food and drinks? To die for. We’ve tried the meatloaf, club sandwich, French dip, and the Godfather — and every single dish has been outstanding. Flavorful, hearty, and clearly made with care. It’s the kind of place where you want to try the whole menu because the hits just keep coming. From atmosphere to hospitality to the food itself, this place is a gem. Can’t wait to come back and keep working our way through the menu!

Would give 6x stars of if I could. Stopped in on my way to Nantahala to do some finishing & I couldn’t have been more surprised at the level of excellence I found at BMD. This was a Monday morning so it wasn’t packed out & I found a seat at the counter instantly. I ordered the Classic Steak & Eggs which was out quick, prepared exactly how I asked & was really good. Staff were super friendly, owner (I assume he was the owner) was also super cool, great to his staff, and the whole restaurant was very clean. Owner said they clean everything regularly (as in every surface, ever salt/pepper shaker, every condiment holder, everything.) which is probably why they have a 100 health rating. Not your typical diner experience where you wonder if you’ll leave with more than just the food you ate. Couldn’t recommend this place more. If you are in the area, this needs to be at the top of your list.

1st time here, visiting from Florida. The food was excellent, quaint little place. Server was sweet and attentative. Love the fire place, makes it feel more cozy. Prices were average and worth the amount of food.

AMAZING food, fabulous service, and fun decor. My daughter and I ordered a savory dish and a sweet dish to split and share. The Shrimp and Crab Omelette is incredible, the home fries are crispy and flavorful, and the French toast was sweet and a taste of comfort. The staff from those behind the bar to the hostess to the servers are friendly, efficient and helpful. The decor is beachy, clean and fun. I especially liked the nod to the old pharmacy that is near the bathrooms!

We love exploring local dining spots when we travel. This restaurant provided great food, excellent service, and a very clean environment. We didn't have to wait at all. The blueberry butter was delicious, and the salsa tasted fresh. There were four of us, and we all enjoyed our meals.

This diner deserves !!! My daughter and I visited for the first time today . I ordered scrambled eggs with peppers, onions and cheese.. amazing! The meal came complete with bacon, English muffin (I requested) and home fries-Amazing!!! This was the best breakfast I have ever eaten! As for the staff... they were above and beyond friendly. Colby had excellent customer service!!! May she never leave there .. I also was fortunate enough to meet the Manager who was top notch friendly! Both he and Colby greet you with a smile and it continues through the conversation. This place is a gem and you will regret it if you never give it a try. I rate this diner !I also will add before leaving I met Adrian the GM.. he is as well.you must meet him when you come .

I love this upscale diner! They have an old school lunch counter. The menu has a large selection of breakfast and lunch items. I enjoyed the smothered beef sandwich. It was delicious! Come early for lunch because it gets very busy.

If you haven’t tried the breakfast at Beach Mountain Diner...then you are definitely missing out. The food here is sooooo good. When we arrived, there was a line around the building. DO NOT let this illusion of a long wait turn you away. The food is so worth every minute waiting to get inside. We put our name on the list and had a seat in about 16 minutes. We promptly received genuine and friendly service... and it was so quick. Once we placed our order, we had our drinks in less than 2 minutes and our food was placed in front of us within 6 minutes. The fastest food service I have ever had. And... the food is so DELICIOUS and the portion sizes are very generous. I had the deluxe breakfast and my boyfriend had the left coast omelette. They don’t only serve breakfast, so I can’t wait to go back and try the other menu options. It all looks so good!! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars!!
